All the financial and political trouble brewing around the world creates buying opportunities for investors, according to experts at a Charles Schwab investment conference this week.

"If you've got the right perspective and long-term approach, it could be a great time," said Scott Nuttall, head of KKR's Global Capital and Asset Management Group, CNBC reported.

His firm’s co-founder George Roberts chimed in, “It's a pretty good time to invest for a lot of different asset classes and around the world."

Roberts is especially struck by all the global political volatility. "You've got more of politically caused economic difficulty in the world today than you probably ever had."

Schwab himself cited the uncertainty created by the fiscal cliff as a way to make money. "We have a difficult time seeing a resolution before Dec. 31," he said. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing for investors.

"When the environment is such uncertainty, it has always been a fantastic place," Schwab said. "There will be a fantastic opportunity for equities and some credits."

The KKR duo cited the markets of Vietnam, Korea and Singapore as attractive investment destinations.

Mark Mobius, executive chairman of Templeton Emerging Markets Group, is bullish on India. He is impressed with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s liberalization of the economy.

“They are going through a reform process so there are a lot of opportunities,” Mobius told Bloomberg last month.
