Severely damaged corn stalks due to the worst U.S. drought in over 50 years are seen at sunset on a farm near Oakland City, Indiana, August 15, 2012. The drought affecting American farms is part of worldwide weather patterns that are contributing to rising food prices and supply shortages. (SAUL LOEB/AFP/Getty Images)
