Porsche has shot to the top of a closely watched survey of long-term vehicle quality.

J.D. Power and Associates says the German sports car maker leads its annual vehicle dependability survey for 2010. The study measures problems experienced by the original owners of vehicles after three years.

Lincoln is No. 2 in the study, while Buick and Lexus are tied for third. Mercury and Toyota round out the top five.

Toyota, whose reputation for quality has come under scrutiny in the face of massive recalls, has fallen from its third place spot last year. But the nameplate still swept four segment awards, more than any other brand, and J.D. Power says the brand performs well in long-term dependability.
