3M Co., which makes everything from Post-Its to films for LCD TVs, says its second-quarter profit jumped 43 percent to $1.12 billion, or $1.54 per share, compared with $783 million, or $1.12 per share, a year earlier.

Revenue rose to $6.73 billion from $5.72 billion a year ago.

Thomson Reuters says analysts had forecast $1.48 per share on revenue of $6.66 billion.
